A tool for pain relief and better movement
If you've ever heard "dry needling" and immediately thought, absolutely not... I get it!
If pain or muscle tightness is keeping you from moving the way you want to, dry needling may be one tool that can help. At my clinic, dry needling is best used as part of a personalized treatment plan.
Dry needling uses very thin, sterile needles to target specific areas of muscle and surrounding tissue. It will help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, and decrease pain so you can move more comfortably.
So, what's the point?
Depending on the individual and the underlying problem, dry needling may be used with exercise and hands-on manual therapy for issues such as:
Muscle tightness and trigger points
Sports-related muscle soreness
Limited mobility
Certain overuse or movement-related injuries
The goal isn't just to treat a painful spot. I want to understand why you're hurting and what is limiting your movement, then build a treatment plan around getting you back to the activities you care about. This is where a PT evaluation is key.
Is this right for you?
Not everyone is a good candidate for dry needling. I will evaluate your symptoms, movement, goals, and medical history before determining whether it makes sense for you.
For the best results, dry needling is usually combined with active treatments such as strength training, mobility work, movement retraining, and a personalized home program.
Personalized physical therapy instead of one size fits all
As a cash-based physical therapy clinic, I focus on individualized care and one-on-one visits. That gives me the opportunity to spend time evaluating the whole picture and choosing the treatments that make sense for you.
If you're curious whether dry needling could be a useful part of your recovery, schedule an evaluation and let's determine whether it's the right fit for your goals.
